You’ve probably heard of steam cleaning – but how much do you know about encapsulation cleaning?
Having clean carpets is essential to maintaining a healthy and livable home, so reading up on all your cleaning options is always a good idea.
Encapsulation cleaning, or dry cleaning, is an interim carpet cleaning method. It’s sort of like a chemical clean for your carpet.
To put it simply, the encapsulation chemical is sprayed onto the carpet and then brushed using a cylindrical or rotary brush machine. Contrary to the name, there is still some water involved in the dry cleaning process. However, it uses about 90% less steam than steam cleaning, making it a really good option for those trying to reduce their environmental footprint. And in case you need more convincing, less water also means that your carpet will able to dry a lot quicker.
We perform encapsulation cleaning as a five step process to ensure maximum attention to detail and a through clean every time.
The first step is to prepare the carpet by giving it a through vacuum. This takes away any surface level dirt and gets the carpet in the best form for cleaning. This sets your carpet up for success from the beginning. The pre-clean also gives us the opportunity to take a look at your carpet, assess what cleaning is needed and decide which chemicals we’ll need to apply during the remainder of the process.
Next, we use a pump-up sprayer to spray Matrix Double Strength Encapsulate, which is diluted with water to absorb any dirt in your carpet. Think of this spay as a magnet to the dirt and grime that’s been living in your carpet. The encapsulate grabs onto the dirt, which allows for an easy vacuuming later on.
Once the spray has been applied, your carpet will be left alone for 10-15 minutes. This will allow the formula to set in and start a deep clean of your carpet.
Once the cleaning liquid has been left to set in, we’ll use what’s called a bonnet machine, which is a grooming brush or a cylindrical brush, to properly work the encapsulate into the carpet. This unique machine ensures your carpet isn’t just cleaned at a surface level and deeper underlying dirt is picked up.
The sixth and final step of the encapsulation cleaning process is over to you. We always encourage the property owner to vacuum the carpet again after our process is complete. Continual vacuuming will pick up the encapsulated debris, maximizing your carpet clean and keeping it in the best condition.
Encapsulation cleaning is a totally safe process, which leaves your carpets in great shape and makes sure you get the maximum life out of them. With just a few hours of drying time, encapsulation cleaning means you’ll be back to using your carpets as usual in no time.
